Course short description

As part of the course, we will learn how to create a website running the CMS WordPress. At the beginning of the course we will learn how to work with the WP system using the administrative panel (hereinafter referred to as the admin panel), but the main emphasis will be on working with WP at the program code level using the PHP programming language and the WP API.

  • Custom (custom) post types.

  • Plugins.
  • Shortcodes.

For practical consolidation of the material, a training project is provided - at the end of the course we will have a ready-made working website running WordPress.

Bonus to this knowledge There will be lessons on registration and authorization, implementation of site localization (translation) and working with the REST API.

As part of this course, we will NOT study layout and the PHP programming language. We will look at the implementation of our fields for entries, however, in the process of creating the site we will use some plugins that implement this functionality in a much more convenient way.

< p>This course is suitable for everyone who is already familiar with layout and web development, but would like to learn how to create a full-fledged website with a backend on the CMS WordPress.Also suitable for those who may be familiar with the work of various CMSs, including including WordPress, but would like to deepen my level of knowledge specifically of this popular content management system (WordPress, hereinafter WP).

Required knowledge and skills

To take the course you need:

  • Knowledge of layout (HTML, CSS, basic knowledge of JS will be a plus).
  • Understanding of client-server interaction.
  • Basic knowledge of programming (any language, but preferably PHP, without knowledge of OOP).
  • Working with hosting and the FTP protocol.
