Course short description

This is the fourth level of the T-SQL course. The programmer's path from beginner to professional", the purpose of which is to provide you with advanced knowledge of the T-SQL language, which will be focused on various administrative tasks.


On the course you will learn how to install SQL Server on Linux , get acquainted with SQL Server system objects, learn what system databases are and what they are needed for, learn what system views, stored procedures, functions exist, and how they can be used.

You will learn how to perform T-SQL various database maintenance operations that need to be performed periodically.

Learn how to create logins and users, assign them specific roles, and you will also learn how to use DCL data access definition statements.

p>In addition, you will learn what database parameters exist and how to change them, how a database backup is created and how to restore a database from an archive in case of failure, as well as how to compress the database if such a need arises.

In other words, in the course you will learn how to administer SQL Server in T-SQL. Of course, it is not worth considering it as an independent course in order to become a professional SQL Server administrator; this course is designed for programmers who develop databases and maintain SQL Server completely independently.

Note! This course assumes that you have certain knowledge and training, in particular, you must be able to use the T-SQL language at a fairly advanced level, for example, know all DDL, DML, and TCL constructs, as well as be able to program in T-SQL, in other words , compose instructions with conditional structures, loops and arrange them in the form of stored procedures and functions.
